Anthropic secures massive compute deals for Claude growth

Anthropic, the company behind the Claude family of AI models, is aggressively expanding its compute capacity to fuel its rapid growth and enhance its AI tools. The AI startup has secured significant compute deals, including a massive commitment to Google Cloud and a substantial agreement with SpaceX.

SpaceX Deal Fuels Claude Code Expansion

A key development is Anthropic's deal to utilize the full computing capacity of SpaceX's Colossus 1 data center, which houses over 220,000 NVIDIA GPUs and boasts more than 300 megawatts of power. This influx of resources is directly impacting users of Claude Code, as Anthropic has announced a doubling of usage limits for Pro and Max users. This move, following other major compute agreements with Microsoft and Amazon, is crucial for supporting the increasing demand and complexity of AI development tasks handled by Claude Code.
